RUHR OCCUPATION.
A DELICATE SITUATION.
THE NEW AGREEMENT.
L'res3 Association—Jilectric Telegraph—Copyright (Received Thursday, 11.5 a.m.) LONDON, Wednesday. A new delicate situation is arising out of the Ruhr occupation owing to the Prauco-Belgian agreement with the Ruhr industrialists under which France and Belgium propose to recoup themselves for the costs of occupation from payments under the agreement.
This was discussed at the conference of British experts, including Sir J. Bradbury, with the Foreign Office. Sir J. Bradbury will report the British Government’s decision to the Reparation Commission, which, according to the Paris newspapers, is confronted with the problem not merely of recognising the occupation of the Ruhr, as hitherto has not been done, but of endorsing tho legality of the payments. ■ Aus. and N.Z.
