Mr Roberts, in the House of Commons, pointed out that the successful candidate in the Mitcham Ly-election only obtained 38 per cent of the votes polled, and asked Mr Bonar Law if he would introduce proportional representation be foie the general election. Mr Bonar Law: “I am not prepared to adopt the suggestion.”' Mr Roberts: “Haven’t you a fellow feeling for members returned by a minority of the voters?” Mr Bonar Law did not reply. Tho Prime Minister has accepted Major Hill’s resignation as Financial Secretary. —Aus. and N.Z. Cable Assn.
