HAWKE’S BAY BEAT AUCKLAND. NAPIER, Wednesday. The New Zealand hockey shield, which has been held by Auckland since 1919 (when they took it from Canterbury), changed hands to-day when an exciting match resulted in a victory for Hawne’s Bay by six goals to five. LADIES’ TOURNEY. NAPIER, Wednesday. The matches in the ladies’ hockey tournament to-day resulted: — A section. —Eastern Southland (2) beat Feilding (0). B section. —Hawkes Bay B (3) beat Wairarapa (0). Hawke’s Bay A (5) beat Manawatu (1). Hawke’s Bay B scored two goals in the first spell against Wairarapa, Misses Fisk and Foreman netting. Play was very even in the second half until towards the close, when the liome team again penetrated and Miss Fish scored.
