LAWN TENNIS.

PARK CLUB. The Park Club were entertained at afternoon tea by the Misses Clark, of “Weuvoe,” Queen street, on Saturday at the Park courts. The committee took the opportunity to run one of their combined doubles Yankee tournaments. Although the recent rains had made the courts somewhat dead for play, some very exciting games were recorded. The handicapping was good, the winners many times just securing the game by one point. At the end of the afternoon, the final was played off between Thompson and Miss Wood (ser.) and Sexton and Miss Evernden (4), with 8 wins each. The contest -was an even one, and the final went to Sexton and Miss* Evernden, by the amount of their handicap, 20- —16. At the conclusion the winners were accorded an ovation. The secretary then expressed the -club’s appreciation of the afternoon’s entertainment given by the Misses Clark, and three cheers were given by the members. The control of the Yankee tournament was in the capable hands of Mdssrs. Yes tv and Wilson. The Park Club expect to play the return match with Mangapakeha Club on Saturday next on the home courts,
