OATS WEAKER. (By Telegraph —Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Tuesday. , Apparently farmers are in no hurry over thrashing their oats, as very few are offering. There is a shade weaker feeling among merchants, but quotations to farmers are unaltered, namely,. 2s 3d to 2s 6d for A Gartions, and 2s tif 2s 3d for Algerians. Wheat is coming forward freely, but millers are not operating beyond immediate necessities. There has been ar heavy rejection of some wheat, bub generally the farmers are accepting the lower price as for fowl feed. A satisr factory feature about later thrashings is that the yields are much improved. White clover is beginning to coma forward, and sales have taken, place of some good quality at Is 2d to farmers. Quotations nominally are lid to Is Id at wayside stations. •There lias been some activity in botli perennial and Italian ryegrass, but quo- ■. tations cover a wide range .accordingto' quality. Pro in 2s 9d to os is the ruling price. ’ . Cocksfoot also has met with enquiry and a good sample is now worth.up.to 5Jd, equivalent to 8d for machine dressed.
