OBSTRUCTION OF FOOTPATHS.

(To the Editor.)

S ; ir.—May J call the attention of th& Mavor and Borough Councillors to the way the streets of Masterton are blocked. On a long night it is common to see people standing in mobs on the footpaths, talking for an hour at a time. Wiiat are the police doing that they cannot keep people moving? Have we not got police in town to see tha't the streets are not blocked by moba standing about? If one wants to get past he has to walk in the roadway and chance being knocked down by wheel traffic. Jf we. have not got enough police let the authorities train, more. There are plenty of men who would be only too pleased to get a job ■just now. —I am etc., CITIZEN. Masterton, December oth.
