THE WOOL INDUSTRY.
DUNEDIN SALES. TONE STILL WEAK. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, Wednesday. The wool sales were continued today. The New Zealand Loan and Mer'cantile Co., Ltd., offered 2100 bales and sold about one-fourth of this quantity. There was no sign of a revival in the market, but this firm happened to have wool suited for the local mills, namely, best merinos and halfbreds, that being the reason fo.v the relatively high proportion quitted. The 'highest price was llifd for four bales of ewe and wether halfbied. Crossbreds are again languishing, and it is obvious from the tone of the sales that buyers have no further instructions from Home. THE TIMARU SALES. TIMARU, Wednesday. The date of the Timaru wool sale, which has been altered from time to time, has now been fixed finally 'for Monday, March 21st. About 12,000 bales have been catalogued.
