HUSBAND ARRESTED
NEW BRIGHTON MYSTERY., (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCH UItCH, Tuesday. F. Malaquin, husband of the womau who, received a revolver shot, wound in the temple at New Brighton; on Sunday week, was arrested to-day on a charge of attempted murder. The case was, at first, reported to be accidental. Mrs Malaquin, who is 22 years of age, and has one child, was removed to the Christchurch Hospital with a 22 calibre revolver bullet in the head near the temple. Tho bullet lias been extracted, and Mrs Malaquin is said to be progressing satisfactorily. ACCUSED REMANDED. CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Frederick C. Malaquin appeared in the Magistrate’s Court to-day, charged with having, on November ith, attempted to murder his wife by firing a revolver at her.
On the application of the police the case was remanded till November 2fith. Boil was allowed accused in £SOO, or two sureties of £250 each.
