ZMASTERTON STOCK SALE. The New Zealand Fanners’ Co-opera-tive .Distributing Co. Ltd., report on tlieir Masterton sale as follows:—A good yarding of sheep, comprising mostly fat and forward ewes, cainc forward'to a fair attendance of buyers. Competition at auction was lifeless, and we had to pass several pens at auction, but eventually sold so\cial pens by private treaty at the following prices:—Prime heavy fat ewes, .’!4s (id; fat b.f. lambs, 20s 4d, 2.1 s (id to 2.1 s 9d; woolly wether lambs. 20s 3d; small b.f. lambs, 17s 4d; 2-tooth we tigers, 255; fat cows, £lO 10s; coloured 24-year steers, £3. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report on their Masterton ‘sale held yesterday: —We had a fair entry of sheep, which we offered to a small attendance of buyers. Competition was dull, and we were unable to reach vendors reserves, and in most, cases they were passed in. We quote: —2-tooth ewes, off turnips, 32s 6d; old ewes, (is. CLEARING- SALES. Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd. report having held a successful clearing sale on account of Messrs Tver Bros, at Moroa, near Grey town, on Tuesday last. The Hock consisted of well-bred Romney sheep,, and the 2000 sheep yarded were probably amongst the best ever offered at auction in the Wairarapa, the quality and condition being the subject of general comment. All the sheep were sold under the hammer, the prices realised being as under:—Four and 6-tooth ewes, 3as 6d: 2-tooth ewes, 34s 9d to 35s 4d; 4year ewes, 33s 6d; 5-year ewes, 31s to 335; dull ewes, 25s to 27s 6d (all in lamb to Romney rams); wether hoggets, 25s 3d; ewe hoggets, 24s lid; ram hoggets, 255; cull hoggets, 21s. Cattle ■were dull of sale, and the larger lines of bullocks failed to find buyers. F,at and forward coloured bullocks fetched from £l3 5s to £ls 5s (small lots), and 24-year steers, £4 2s. Implements and sundries sold well. The Wairarapa Farmers’ Co-opera-tive Association, Ltd., Stock Department, report having held a successful clearing sale on account of the Waterson Estate at Dalefield yesterday, when they offered the whole of the dairy herd of 31 dairy cows a fair attendance. The herd came forward in fair condition, and averaged £ls. Prices ranged from £9 10s, £lO, £l2 10s, £l4, £l4 10s, £l4 15s to £l6. Sundries sold at late market rates.
