ALICE PARKINSON.
CASE REVIEWED BY CABINET. (By Telegraph —Press Association.) WELLINGTOX, Tuesday. The case of Alice Parkinson, who some live years ago was sentenced to life imprisonment for manslaughter a Napier, has again been receiving tdie consideration of the GcA Prom time to time numerous petitions and resolutions have been presented to the Government, asking for the circumstances of the prisoner s case to be considered, wit'll a view to her ielease bein 0- granted. The Mmsiter of Justice stated to-day that Cabinet had decided upon the introduction ot legislation which would allow of the I ar Jkinson case, and similar cases, to be placed under the jurisdiction of the Prisons Board. Should Parliamentjpass the legislation proposed, it would enable the cases to be considered bj the Prisons Board, which null have the power to make a recommendation to the Governor-General for the lelease upon probation of prisoners situated os Alice Parkinson is, if the Boaid deems such action advisable.
