GENERAL BIRDWOOD.
MASTERTON .VISIT. Mr W. 11. Jackson (Mayor) has received the following letter from the Under-Secretary of the Department of Internal Affairs iu connection with General Birdwood’s visit: — “Sir, —I am in receipt of your letter of the sth inst. to the HOll. Minister submitting proposed programme for the entertainment of General Sir William Birdwood while in Masterton, and calling attention to the mistakein the dates advised you, xvbcilt clerical error is regretted. The programme drawn up by you has been forwarded to the General for his consideration, and he xvill communicate with you in due course as to the definite time of arrival and departure.- —Yours faithfully, J. llislop, Under-Secretary.”
