A TEMPESTUOUS VOYAGE. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAN I>, Monday. The six-master barquentine E. R. Sterling, which arrived from Newcastle to-day j met tempestuous weather on the voyage. During the height, of a storm the mainsail, mizzon, and two top-gallant sails were blown away. An exceptionally big sea, which came aboard, shifted the midship deckhouse, which is used as quarters, for the apprentices!. The,! *bunks and contents were washed away. The water also flooded the cabin and did much damage to the ship's stores. During the voyage an apprentice sustained’a broken (arm, and was almost washed overboard. The ship’s carpenter and the mate plso received minor injuries.
