(To the Editor.) Sir, —Mr Goodef's letter in your issue of Saturday is timely, and if a worthy monument is to be erected the writer's contentions must be given heed to. It is given to but few men the power to express what the many feel in such a matter, and it is the simple, duty, wo owe to ourselves that we should seek the guidance of the few who are capable*, while at the same time we take a full personal interest in the work. In this connection ail article now being published from the pen of Mr Hurst Seuger, F.R.LB.A., is worthy of careful perusal, while m recent issues of “Building,';’ an ablyedited .journal published m Sydney, there are illustrations of good and baa designs which serve to support Mr Gooder’s contentions. I have not seen tlio design that your correspondent particularly criticised, and hope that his remarks will not discourage other students.
