WAIROA HARBOUR.

SCHEME SUBMITTED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WAIROA, Friday. Messrs Ferguson, Blair, Mason, and Cyrus Williams, the Engineering Commission to the Wairoa Harbour Board, have submitted a scheme tor works at Waikokopu. The cost of the first instalment is estimated at £165,000, and that of the main scheme at £268,000, a total cost of £443,600. If the main scheme is proceeded with first, the cost is estimated at £333,000, saving £IOO,OOO. For that sum tho board will obtain complete shelter for vessels to a draught of 38 feet. 'The board has decided to ask Mr Blair Mason to state, his terms for supervising the works. A committee has been set up to consult the Gisborne board regarding lands north of Waikokopu at present in the Gisborne rating area, which it is considered should be the Wairoa rating area, with a view to reaching an amicable settlement.
