WAIRARAPA CHAMPIONSHIPS. SENIOR COiIPETITION. REG STAB v. MASTERTON. The Wairarapa Rugby l uion s championship matches were continued on Saturday afternoon. The grounds were heavy as the result of the recent rain, while showers fell during the play. At Mastorton the Red Star and Mastevton seniors met. Owing to the fact thht several of the Red Stars were on the sick-list, and juniors had to be called upon to HI their places, it was considered that Mastorton would have an easy victory. Weakened though they were, the Stars put up a great fight, and for more than half the game led by eiirht points to nil, and were hnailv onlv beaten by one point, the scores being—Mastorton !) points, Red Star S points. The Stars had somewhat the better of the play. For Masterton Murray kicked two goals, while Ball scored a try For Stars Aldridge and New lands scored tries, one ol which McEwon converted. Mr E.
