Herrera pleads that Carranza committed suicide, but it is understood that an autopsy showed that this \\as untenable. Great crowds attended the funeral. A session of Congress selected Adolfo Huerta, Governor of Sonora, as interim president of Mexico. He received 224 votes against 28 for Gonzales.
