ADMINISTRATIVE STAFFS.
Wo have pointed out on several occasions that thetjc was need for' more sympathy between the ' administrative staffs of the various sections of the civil service and the men themselves. There has* been in the past, too much friction between the two sections, because the administration failed" to grasp the-fact fliat the, siei) Lad rights and were deserving of consideration. The E. 0.1. pointed this out during therecent dispute. ■ Apparently the administrative staffs'have become covered with moss as the. result, of a Lip van Winkle sleep iff the Woods of Antiquity. More progressive, energetic, members are required on the .-staffs—rv. individuals who will do the right, thing by both the Government and the civil servants. The trouble is not confined to any one branch of the eiv ll service. We trust that the Prime Minister vsnlf investigate .the whole matter and what can be done to prevent t rouble in the future.
