COMMERCIAL.
PRODUCE MARKETS. CHRISTCHURCH, Friday. During the week business in grain and seeds has been quiet. There has been some enquiry from the North Island for oats, but this w'eek’s prices remain the ssyne as last week. A number of growers seem disinclined to sell their potatoes, and in some eases buyers have given 95s in order to fill urgent requirements. A fair amount of business, however, has been done this week on the basis of 90s. A r ery little bas been done in barley sales. The clover market is still weak. The onion market is temporarily stagnant, as buyers are not disposed to give the price asked by the Growers’ Association, £8 per ton.
