Sir Auckland Geddes, the newly-ap-pointed British Ambassador to Washington, has arrived. In a statement to the press he says: ‘‘Britons not domiciled in Ireland ought to stand aside and leave those living there to solve their own problems. It would also be helpful if those in other parts of the world who are not Britons, but are interested in Ireland, would do likewise.”
