TURKEY'S POSITION.
A FORECAST. Press Association— Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) I’AIM S, Saturday. “Le Matin” foreshadows that the Turkish Treaty will cause Turkey to lose half her inhabitants; only nine Million Maliommedans and two million Christians will remain under the Turkish Hag. About ten million Arabs, Armenians and Greeks will be liberated. Lesser Turkey, as the new State will be called, will bo closely watched by the Allies, and the constitution and army will be such as to prevent future trouble. Also Palestine, Syria, Arabia, and Mesopotamia, will be taken from Turkey. Whether the Ottoman Government remains at Constantinople or not, the city will be placed on an international footing. Armenia will become a new State.
