FARMERS’ UNION.
MARTINBOROUGH BRANCH. A meeting of the martinboiouh branch of the Farmers’ Union was held In Martmborough yesterday. In the absence of the president (Mr A. T). McLeod, M.P.), Mr W. lorns was appointed to the chair, and presided over an attendance of fifteen members. The organising secretary of the Wairaiapa district (Mr D. Hebenton) was also present, and brought under the notice of those present several matters of interest to the farmers of the district. Mr ’ 4. T. Blake, M.R.C.V.S. gave an interesting address upon the cystic disease among animals, and on the motion of Mr E B. Evans, was accoided a hearty vote of thanks. After a discussion relative to dairy matters generally, it was decided that Mr Singleton, of the Dairy Division, l>e written to, requesting information re forming cow-testing associations for the Wairarapa district. • At the conclusion of the business, the chairman (Mr W. lorns) paid a high tribute to the work of Mr D. Hebenton, secretary of the Union, and the efficient manner in which he had carried out the duties of that office. The meeting unanimously passed a hearty vote of thanks to Mr Hebenton, in appreciation of his efforts Oil behalf of the Farmers’ Union in the Wairarapa.
