The Mail” understands that the Government’ is negotiating with the Australian Government for a further pre-emption on the wool clip. London wool-brokers believe tlie Go\ermnent is not anxious to purchase future clips, as it is still carrying a large surplus. ", It is stated that the trade would resent further sales to the Government but new supplies must be judiciously controlled to prevent: a glut. Mr Massey, commenting on the foregoing cablegram last night, said that no overtures whatever regarding the future purchase of wool had been made by the Imperial Government to the New Zealand Government.
