THE DAY.

To-morrow is a great day. New Zealand's destiny is in the hands of the

voters,

It is possible to make this land an example of sobriety, social progress, and moral cleanliness for the civilised to look upon with admiration.

The vote to-morrow may be so recorded that generations to come may look back with thankfulness upon December 17 as the day of New Zealand's freedom from the degrading liquor traffic.

Do not .fail your country in the day of battle. Each vote for Prohibition is a blow for freedom.

Eemember the horrors connected with this trade which Lloyd George has said "is a greater enemy + han Germany," and defend the country from the enemy within the gates.

Eemember the 10,000 convictions for drunkenness annually.

Eemember the £5,000,000 annually upon liquor and which handicaps New Zealand in competing with other countries.

Eemember the 2000 prohibition orders taken out annually against men who have become liquor wrecks.

Remember that the annual number of deaths in New Zealand through intoxicating liquor is probably 1000. Think of it! Twenty persons each week killed by strong drink!

Think of the heartbreaks and sorrow caused by the traffic, and then think of the happiness and prosperity which will, come to thousands of homes in this Dominion if the Liquor Trade is ended.
