ELECTORS AND THE ROLL.

As we announced yesterday, the General Elections are to be held on December 17th —less than four weeks hence. Tho election writs will be issued in a few days, after which those electors whose names are not on the roll will be unable to vote. Mr G. R. Sykes, A1.1'., voiced a complaint to us yesterday that a large number of settlers in the country had found their names struck off the roll. As it will probably be found that scores of electors have had their names left off the rolls for some reason, it behoves every elector to see that his or her name is on the roll. The coming election will be the most important, ever held in the history of New Zealand. The. issues that Avill engage the new Parliament will be the most momentous any legislative body has ever been called upon to deal with. The return of absolutely sane, moderate and intelligent candidates to Parliament is essential in the interests of

good Government. Therefore, it- behoves the electors to see that their names- are on the roll, and they must bear in mind that they have only a few days ia which to do so.
