PIONEERS v. MANAWATU

A football match, Pioneer Battalion team v. Manawatu, was played to-day. Manawatu had tlio and sun in their favour and scored 9 points in the firsthalf to the Maoris' nil. In the second half the home team showed lark of condition, and the Maoris ran through, despite the desperate rallies of the Manawatu team. Pioneers won easily by 22 points to 9.
