NKW YORK, June. 1
The New York Tribune's Amerongel! correspondent, who accompanined a groii]> of sight-seeing members of the enited States Army, states that the. troops caused consternation to the exKaiser and entourage when they arrived iv the vicinity of the castle. It was feared the American party was determined to see the Kaiser, even if force were necessary to reach him. The fact was that. the. correspondent merely sought an interview through Count Bentinek. The correspondent wrote a Note to the Kaiser, asking him to express his opinion about the Peace Treaty and President Wilson's fourteen points, and tho Allied plan to bring him to trial. Tho note was conveyed to the former monarch by Count Bentinek. The ex-Kai-ser sent back an oral answer, refusing to be seen or express any opinion. The correspondent adds that the full text of the peace terms has reached the* ex-Kaiser.
