HOUSING PROBLEM.
For Homo time past returned soldiers have experienced considerable difficulty in securing housing accommodation. As more men returned the seriousness of the position increased. A move has now been made by the War Belief Association in Wellington in the direction of stirring up the Government to recognise its responsibility in tho matter. The Government is to bo asked to proceed at once with the erection of houses for soldiers in the principal centres. Furthermore, the Association urges that the nouses should be wold-to the soldiers on reasonable term:;. Another commendable resolution passed by the Association was in the direction of urging the Government to remove the Jimitation placed on amounts advanced by the advances to soldiers department, iv order that soldiers may be- enabled to acquire houses for themselves under the provisions of the Act. A real live War Belief Association in Masterton would probably secure for the soldier more attention to lus welfare than lie -is at present receiving.
