THE HOUSING PROBLEM.
'I'iie housing problem, as outlined at the Progressive League's luncheon yesterday. i> theoretically a satisfactory sehene . But can it be put into practice'? To our mind the best solution of the housing problem i.-. for large firms to build houses for their own employees. The Bolshevik scheme ~f golfing a local body to engage in a wild-cat scheme of building houses for the use of employees outride its own stall*, will not appeal to anyone with a real sense of responsibility who has given serious thought to the matter. Something useful maycome out of the Progressive League,-? scheme, but, at present, the odds are in the other direction.
