The German delegates to the Socialist Conference are advocating the international adoption of a 44 hours' week.
A SERIOUS THREAT
LONDON, Monday
The London. Electrical Trade Union has decided to strike on Thursday, plunging Loudon into darkness, unless the Government intervenes at the Clyde, Belfast and elsewhere, with a view to legislating for a national forty hours a ■week. Eight thousand London hotel workers have struck. The Standard's Glasgow correspondent states that the union of loyal workmen are otadually returning as the result of a promise by the authorities of complete protection. The shipyards are expected to be in full operation by Wednesday.
