SOME HINTS ON RIDING COSTUMES. The Masterton Show is an event looked forward to by many ladies of the Wairarapa for the equestrienne events that take place; and consequent on this they are interested in the different stylea of riding costumes now in vogue. Of late years, and particularly during the war period, the style mostly favoured is the long riding coat with breeches and top boots complete, and as a safe and reliable outfit this is hard to beat. The style is elegant, with plenty of freedom for both rider and horse, and is safe in case of accidents. It is a style that has undoubtedly come to stay, and we welcome it because it is a real tailor's suit in artistic style, manufacture, cut and appearance. The coat, to be of the correct length, should come to top of boots, semi-fitting with plenty of spring over hips, slit at back almost three inches above saddle, revers and collar of medium length to show plenty of stock. The breeches should have buckskin strappings, and cut open and with plenty of angle, to give freedom on the saddle, and buttons at knee. This suit, made by a practical Ladies' Tailor, is one that will give everlasting satisfaction. . The divided skirt is still very much in demand, and the open front with fly and buttons sttll remains popular. To those ladies who do more walking than riding this style, and also that with the panel front, are very popular. For these garments we know no better tailor'than Alex Donald, of this town, who has specialised for years in. this class of work, and knows every detail required in tho cut and make of eqquestrienne garments. Mr Donald will be glad to talk these matters over with ladies interested, and show materials and styles which have just come to hand. His address is 44 Queen Street, Masterton. *
