COMMITTEE Eepresentative of the SPOETS BODIES IN WAIEAEAPA have acquired, for the purposes of & SPOUTS GROUND, 12$ acres of the OLD SHOWGROUNDS, comprising the playing area and the high ground forming a natural grandstand, as a lasting Memorial to Fallen Wairarapa Soldiers. , The Ground will provide a good i-niile Track, at least two Football grounds, and an excellent Cricket Ground.. The sum of £5000 is required to complete the Purchase, Fence, Plant, Improve and Lay-out the Grounds. Also to erect Suitable buildings and Memorial Tablet. This interests aU persons concerned in the welfare of the Young Generation of Wairarapa. What more lasting, useful or appropriate Memorial could be provided for our Fallen Heroes, all of whom have been the Empire's Sportsmen. Let us play the game and provide the Memorial for their Children. The Sportsmen will provide the income to keep the grounds in order. The Public are asked to provide the Capital (£5000) required.
