"Y/e are doing all that men possibly can do to cope with the coal crisis," stated Sir James Allen, Acting-Prime Minister, yesterday. "The coal miners in the New Zealand Expeditionary Forces havo been specially ordered back, and all of them will be leaving for the Dominion this month. We are also communicating with the English Goverzjfc ment with regard to securing the use'ST ships to get coal from Australia. Wβ are tackling the problem, therefore, from both points of view, local production in New Zealand and importation, from Australia. Two ships of 10,000 tons have been secured for the purpose, and we hope to get more. We are doing all that we can do.''
