The Ministry of Information sffiysr that the question of whether the Germans are contemplating some freßh barbarous innovation is suggested by their persistent allegations that tho Britsflfo are using unlawful bullets. Germany- recently protested to tk» British Government in reference t® this matter, and the reply of the Foreign Office showed that tho protest waa absolutely unjustified. The British Government knows that a German accusation of this kind is usually advanced as an excuse for some prepared, concerted violation of the laws and customs of war, so the foreign Office has notified Germany that any such fresh outrage will be met ;wiih. prompt and stern reprisals.
