PARAMOUNT THEATRE.

The new programme presented at the Paramount Theatre last night was responsible for drawing a large crowd to this popular theatre. The programme consisted of two five-part, features and a most'exciting chapter of tho thrilling serial, "Who- is No. 1?" As this is the thirteenth episode only two more chapters remain to complete this story. Pretty June Caprice and charming little Jano Lee are both featured in tho beautiful story, "Tho Ragged Princess." Alicia Jones runs away from the great black orphanage she has learnt, to call her home. She finds a pair of overalls and a wide-brimmed hat in a barn, and she dresses up as a man; then she hires out at a farmer's. At tho farmer's sh G meets Harry Deigan, and falls in love with him. When the farmer learns that she is a girl he is enraged, and Alicia is forced to run away once more. Frederick Warde, an iron-heart, ed Pemberton, and Helen Bagley as "Billy," are both featured in "The Fires of Youth," a pretty story, blend, ing humour and pathos in a most appealing manner, showing that riches aro not happiness when love is lacking. The strange friendship of tho wealthy man and the'littlc urchin who went to work in the hell pit. The latest ' * Gazette is an excellent number, and completes the programme.
