There are only occasional''samples oi? wheat offering from North Canterbury, and it is mostly fowl wheat. Odd samp-** les of oats arenlso being submitted &n<s selling at 4s and 4s 4d at country stations according to quality. There i» an improved demand for oatsheaf chaSJ ■due to the greater local requirements, and also for shipment. A. special stea-*----mer is loading chaff at southern ports* and Lyttelton for Gisborne next week.] Potatoes aro in good demand, and buy-* ers aro giving £6 to £6 4s at country sta* tions, the higher price being for deHv-* cry at the beginning of next month. Inj other lines the market is very quiet .j Onions aro now.brnging £30 to £I'o 10«f at country stations.
