A CLEVER BRITISH RAID.
(Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) (Received Friday, at 8.35 a.m.) LONDON, Thursday. Mr Ward Price, the war correspondent, describes the thoroughness of the British preparations for a raid across the Piave, resulting in the demolition of a machine gun post and the prisonering of the garrison. The raiderg rubbed themselves for a week previously with camphorated oil and crossed the ice cold water waist deep, aided by a rope. They marched miles afterwards to restore their warmth.
