SOLDIER ACQUITTED OF MURDER
(Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) LONDON, Wednesday.
The trial of Lieut. Douglas Malcolm, of tho Field Artillery, charged with tho murder of Anton Bamnberg, otherwise, known as Count Doborch, has been held.
For tho prosecution it was admitted that Doboreh seduced Malcolm's beautiful young wife while he was abs'eut at the front. Malcolm returned, discovered the intrigue, and thrashed Doborch. lie pleaded with his wife to give up Dol>oroll, but s-'ho refused, saying she loved him. .Malcolm challenged Deborch to si duel, but tho challenge was not accepted. Malcolm subsequently shot Dcborcli.
Malcolm was acquitted. The, public cheered, and made a. .demonstration for live minutes.
