The Ee.v. J. 11. Simmonds, Principal of tho Wesley Training College, Auckland, who is visiting the Wairarapa at the. invitation of the. Farmers-' l.'niou to leet.nre upon the subject of afforestation. -will airive in .Masterton on Monday, September 24th. M.v Simnionds is one of the best, authorities in New Zealand lapon the subject of forest trees, and has made a special study of tho various .kinds of eucalyptus trees. He proposes visiting the Tenui district lirst. and will "foe accompanied by Mr 11. G. Groves.
f On the afternoon of September -4th he visits Scveiicaks and other Langdale W 'properties. Ou the following day Aune'""v rale, Ngapoputu, and W'hakataki will be, vis-'ted. On Wednesday he will be at Tea, Beaui'iaris and Fern Gleu, and on Thursday he will visit Bushgrove and other Maungapakeha farms, and -will lecture in Tenui in the afternoon. His subsequent itinerary in the Wairarapa "will be arranged by the Farmers-' Union. An advertisement in reference to tho Rov_ "Mr Simmonds' visit appears on the front page of this issue.
