LAW SOCIETY'S PROPOSAL.
DUNEDIN, Monday
At the annual meeting of the Otago Ij.-i.w Society, the following motion war.
-''That, it be a rccommenda
tion to the council of the New Zealand. Daw Society to solicit subscriptions from (lie bench aud bar of New Zealand for a fund to be devoted towards the alleviation of (he suffering of troops :it the front., particulars as to the form which the gift shall lake to be left to the council of the New Zealand Society after consultation with the defence authorities; find that, it. be recommended thiit., before subscriptions are solicited, a definite object be iixed in connection with the defence authorities, such as filter water wagons."
