PRIVATE HAM'S WOUND PROVES FATAL

The Hon Jas. Allen has received cable advice that the Auckland; Wellington, Canterbury, and Otago battalions all took part in last week's engagement against the Tutks at the Suez Canal. The Hon J. Allen has also received a cablegram from Cairo, informing him of the death of Private Ham, of Motueka, who was dangerously wounded in the neck at Serapeiuu on the 3rd inst.
