To tho youthful C.'Dacre, of Auckland, belongs the credit of compiling tho highest individual score in senior grade cricket in Auckland this season. Playing for North Shore, Dacre compil. cd iSB, bring his total up to 1800 runs, 800 of which had beeu made in senior cricket.
Old-time cricketers will be pleased to hear that the "demon" bowler, F. R. Spofforth, has two sons at the front, and two of his daughters arc doing Red Cross work.
Another cricketer has been killed at the front—T. Gregory, of Notts, a leftarm bowler, who was a member of tho Notts eleven from 1905 to .1907 inclusive.
Tho ex-Otago coach, Charles Macartney, is still in scoring mood on the other side. Playing for Gordon the other day, Macartney made 125 out of a total of SOS. He hit 11] 4's, and was at the crease two hours.
Frank L. Ashbolt, one of the Wellington representatives in the IS9B-99 New Zealand team that toured Australia, has gone into camp at Trentham with the reinforcements for the Expeditionary Forces.
Sydenham, playing against Kaiapoi in the senior grade competition in Christchurch, compiled the large total of 505, to which F. Woods contributed 201 and W. Haves 100.
