GERMAN STEAMER SUNK.
LONDON, Friday.
An officer of the Australia, in a letter, state*: "We sighted a steamer on the Brazilian coast on January Gth, at a. distanco of 12 milos. Wo chased her for fivo hours, when she surrendered. The crew of 90 was taken off. Two 12in shells in the superstructure, and two iin bolow tho water wero fired. The steamer sank in 2:"> minutes. Her cargo was -worth £250,000.
