CARTERTON STOCK SALE.
Messrs G. and G. Tnrnbnll and Co.. Ltd., report having held their weekly sale in their Carterton sale yards yesterday. A good yarding of sheep, cattle, and pigs came forward well in advance of adA'ertised numbers. There was a large attendance of buyers, consequently competition was very keen throughout the sale, and the whole yarding, with the exception of 16 Aveaner eah'es, changed hands at the folloAviug prices:—Sheep: Fat 2-tooth ewes and Avethers. 22s Gd; fat, ewes. 17s to ISs: fonvard ewes, 21s Id; store ewes, 8s 2d; fat lambs, 15s 2d; forward woolly lambs 12s 3d: good condition woolly lambs, Bs, Ss Id, Ss 7d, 8s lOd to <>s Id;, medium woolly lambs, 5s sd, 5s 7d to 6s 9d; shorn lambs, Gs to 7s; medium, 4s sd, •!-s 7d; 2-tooth wethers, 14s 6d; 6-tooth Romney ewes. 15s 3d; rams (potters) 10s; 4-shear Southdown ram, £3 3s: 2shear English Leicester ram, 2 ; } guineas. Pigs: Porkers 22s Cd. 22s Od, 23s 3d. 24s ml; slips, 12s. Cattle: Fat cows and heifers. £7 lis; fat cows, £5 12s, £6. £6 Ms; forward coavs, £4 3s, £4 15s to £4 17s: store coavs. £3 10s, £3 12s 6d. to £3 l(is: poor condition store cows, £1 19s. £2 Is to £2 12s tid; cow and calf, £2 J3s: springing Ayrshire heifer, £5 12s Gd; heifer calves,' 10s to 13s: steer eah T e. 13s; mixed calves. Ids: bulls, £2 15s. £3 ss, £3 6s, £3 Bs, £4. £4 12s 6d, £4 15s. £5. £5 Is, £5 3s, £5 Gs, £G to £6 Is. We also sold, on account of tke> Belgian Relief Fund, 1 turkey gobbler presented by Thos. Tngley, Esq., for 10s Gd.
