VERY REV. DEAN McKENNA, V.G.
The Very Rev. Dean McKenna, Y.G., for over twenty-live years parish priivc at Masterton, received a. flattering welcome on his return from abroad yesterday. In his own words it was a ''welcome of Avhich any man might well feel proud." fie is not only the Dean of St. Patrick's, lie is Masterton's Dean, and a large number of people assembled at the Town Hall last night to give him a hearty reception and congratulare him on his appointment as Vicar-Gen-eral. The Dean lias laboured for years for the advancement of the town of Masterton and the district as a whole, and his work in educational matters is Avejl-known, so that it is gratifying to know that lie has returned with health and strength renewed to continue his labours in the community. As the Mayor (Mr -). M. Coradine) remarked last night he has laboured so long in Masterton that he has come to be regarded as "our Dean," and avc join with the public of Masterton in extending to him a welcome home after his twelve months absence.
