"THE PLOT REVEALED."
MR REDMOND'S STATEMENT
LONDON, Wednesday. Router's Agency has beeii requested to send the following, as Mr Redmond's statement to Australian sympathisers: — "The Ulster Orange Plot has now been completely revealed. Sir EdAvard Carson and'his army have not, nor never had, the slightest intention of lighting. As a light-- ' ing force against the Regulars they could not hold out a week. The . plan was to put up the appearance of a light, and then, by society influences, seduco Army officers, and thus intimidate ? the Government and defeat the people's will. The action of the commanders in some of the crack cavalry regiments, officered by aristocrats, has now fully disclosed the plan of campaign. The issue raised is Avider even than Home Rule; it is whether a democratic GoA'crnment is to be broAvbcaten and dictated to by the draAving rooms of London and a, section of Army officers who are aristocrats and violent Tory\ partisans. The cause of Irish freedom has in this light become the cause of popular freedom and ordered liberty throughout the Avorld. It is impossible to doubt the result of such a fight. The second reading Avill be taken on Monday, and the Bill proceeded with until it finds a place on the Statute Book."
