LOBBY OPINION.
IMPOSSIBLE TO CALL OX THE ARMY.
(Received Wednesday, at 9.20 a.m.) LONDON, Tuesday. Oeneral Paget and General Cough have returned to Ireland.
The opinion was generally expressed in the lobby after Mr Asquith's speech (hat it was now impossible for the Government to call on the Army to coerce Ulster.
Many Liberal and Nationalists are disappointed that the Government had not accepted the resignations
The Daily News says the public Avant to know the conditions under which General Gough returned. Are they conditions of unqualilied or optional obedience? if the Army is a Tory institution, the Liberals will have to break it as they broke the House of Lords
