TROUBLES OF MARRIED LIFE
Ath tho Supreme Court this morning, Edwin Henry King petitioned for a. divorce from Alary Marie King on tho grounds of desertion. Mr T. M.. Wil- rford appeared for petitioner, and Mr J. W. Card for respondent.
The petitioner said that he was a labourer residing at Greytown. He was married to respondent in January, DOT. They lived in Greytown, Martiuborough and Wellington. There was one child by the marriage. Respondent left him in September 1907, as he objected to her keeping company with certain men. He brought her back after a fortnight-. They removed to Wellington, and at the end of a month respondent left him again, as he objected to a certain gentleman calling to see her at the house where they rented rooms. He got tho woman with whom they were staying to telegraph to respondent, telling her that he was ill. She replied by telegram: "I don't care if he is dead." I'll get the clothes after the funeral.'-' He did not see respondent since. Mr Card admitted i-ho facts of the case. His Honour granted a decree nisi. Mr Card applied for the custody of the child. Mr Wilford did not oppose this, and an application was made accordingly by His Honour.
