LIBERALS AND LABOUR.
A "SCAB" ORGANISATION,
[By Telegraph-—Press Association.] OniUSTCIIURCH, Monday. Recently the local Liberals, headed by several members of Parliament, formed a new Liberal-Labour Federation, designed to prevent vote-splitting at. elections The chairman of the local Social Democratic Party now announces that th« move is regarded as hostile, and that the new body will be treated as a "scab organisation by the Social Democrats. .In view of their expressed determination to support Liberal candidates Avhere Labourites are not in the field, the promoters of the Federation are disconcerted. The* following telegram has been sent, by Mr Hunter, president of the branch of the Social Democratic Party, to Sir Joseph Ward: "The action taken at Christchurc.h by Liberal members of Parliament to form a Liberal-Labour Federation is taken as a hostile act. The new federation will be treated as a 'scab' organisation by organised Labour.' ,
