PROPOSED VISIT TO MASTERTON.

WELLINGTON, Monday. At a meeting of the New Zealand Athletic Council, held to-night, Mr Marryat presiding, it was announced that tho American athletic team would probably make another tour of the North Island on their return from Sydney, arriving at Wellington on February 25th. The Council proposes holding a mooting at Wellington on the 28th, at Masterton on March nth, Hamilton on March 7th, the team then spending a week at Rotorua. Tho performance of R. R. Templetoii in the pole vault (lift 2 l-16in) at Masterton was granted recognition as an Australasian record. Application to .recoirniso E. Caughoy's putt of 45ft Ojiu with tho 161b shot at Palmerston North was disallowed, owing to no guard board having boon used. J. McHolm's hammer.throw ot 147 ft sjin at Auckland was recognised as an Australasian record.
