LONGBUSH,
There havo been two marriages of residents in the district lately, and thero are six more in the near future.
The Longbush cheese factory will have a much larger output this year, tho wet spring suiting the cows. With the good price for cheese on thcllome market, the suppliers hope for a satisfactory return.
Fat lambs are not doing so well as expected this year. Some of the settlers think that, the drafters' fingers are too sensitive. I think there aro too many ticks on the lambs, the dipping last year not being as effective as it might have been.
The Gladstone sports will be held as usual in the Glensidc pa-ddocks. Mr W. Strang, of Matcngatenga, is again to the fore with some handsome prizes for the jumping events. Given a fine day the meeting ought to be a huge success.
Quite a. number of properties in Gladstone have changed hands lately. Green Corner- has changed from Mr J. Steel to Mr W. McGregor.; Mr J. Grant's farm to Mr Haeta Henare;; Bannockburn from Messrs Grant to Mr Percy Oates. All wero disposed of at about £20 per aero*
